Invicta Flies - Pheasant March Brown
There are many good variations of the March Brown pattern. This one uses hen pheasant body feather tips for the wings, providing a nice pattern with all the appropriate colors. Leaving the tips full as I have done here works well, or you can trim/burn the ends to a more realistic wing profile.
Hook: Mustad 94840, #12-14
Thread: Danville's Prewaxed 6/0, brown
Tail: brown hackle fibers
Ribbing: loop of the tying thread
Body: beaver dubbing dyed brown
Hackle: brown and grizzly, mixed
Wing: hen pheasant body feather tips
